Earth Fest is a Zero Waste Event! Please bring your own reusable bag to hold your creations and prizes, water bottle to fill at our water stations, cup for other beverages, and any utensils you may need for the pupusa and taco food trucks.

EARTH FEST 2023 RECAP
Earth Fest 2023 was a big success that drew hundreds of people from across the district!
Our Earth Fest celebration is a fun way for students and families to learn about environmental awareness and practices. From live rescue animals to an upcycled cardboard Tree of Life, from learning about the role of pollinators, wetlands, and gardens in our ecosystem to water conservation, recycling, and people-powered transportation practices, students were busy playing, creating, learning, and celebrating our Earth. Families also enjoyed rock painting, face painting, book swapping, food trucks and popsicles, a fun photo booth, and prizes.
El Rincon welcomed greater district-wide involvement this year: In addition to El Marino’s Green Team returning with free bike valet services for all cyclists, Lin Howe’s Green Team hosted a fun “Race to Zero Waste!” activity, and the CCHS Endangered Species Club hosted mosaic creations.
Earth Fest also stands out for its Zero Waste efforts, including food vendors using only compostable containers and utensils and volunteer-staffed waste stations to ensure proper sorting into recycle, compost, and landfill bins.
Thank you to the organizations and individuals that made this event possible! Our generous financial supporters were Culver City Education Foundation, Culver City Rotary Club, El Marino PTA, and El Rincon PTA. The 2023 Earth Fest Planning Committee (Veronica Herrera, Jenifer Metz, Francine Wong, and Teresa Wong) spent months organizing the event and were joined by 46 volunteers who came together to prepare campus, set up, work the event, and clean up after.
