Principal's Message

August 3, 2023

Dear Rocket Families,

It is with great pride that I welcome you to the 2023/2024 school year.

Here at El Rincon STEAM Elementary, our goal is to provide a space that will empower ALL students to become innovative thinkers and creative problem solvers, as we inspire learners to thrive in the twenty-first century.

This year our school wide theme is: Discover Your Superpowers.  Throughout the school year, we will have opportunities to celebrate, harness, and share the unique strengths and abilities of our students and staff. This includes opportunities to explore our talents and interests, and promote self-discovery, self-advocacy, and personal growth.

Engaging in STEAM education requires honoring the way it shows up in the lived experiences and histories of diverse populations. This year, we will continue to focus on ensuring that our marginalized students are centered, and that we can show ALL students that they bring value to the classroom. Caregivers are an integral part of the school community and throughout the year, there will be opportunities to share something from your culture, or background.

Each week, I will send a weekly newsletter via email using the email given during registration. Please let the office know if you need to update your email address. We would also like to encourage you to check out our school’s facebook page by liking the El Rincon Rockets page and our twitter page by following @elrinconrockets1. Here you will find the most up to date information and announcements throughout the year. In addition, we will meet as a school campus every Wednesday morning for a school wide assembly from 8:35- 8:50am. All are welcome to attend during that time.  It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other, and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. I am looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential.

With Rocket Pride,

Dr. Amy Hodge, Principal

Ms. Kana Nakagawa, Assistant Principal
