What a fun night! The PTA’s Family STEAM and MakerFaire Night was bigger than ever! With nearly 200 students and over 500 attendees, families spread out throughout campus to build, explore, create, and to get rolled over by a mini Mars rover. Thank you to the organizing committee - Teresa Wong, Kristen Bedolla, and VK Shah. The night provided students and adults a glimpse into all elements of the STEAM program with science, 3D printers, engineering, art, math, and combined these elements in multiple activities.
Students enjoyed activities from JPL's Mars Rover with Mr. Ravi Prakash, the USC Makers Club, the UCLA Society of Women Engineers, JoyLabz's MakeyMakey devices with Mr Nicke Haley, TileFarm Math, MakMo activities from the LA County Library, a DIY cardboard marble maze with Ting Internet, Sensory Room with Ms Denise Lemon and Mrs. Anasia Obioho, creating a cardboard city with Mrs. Lisa Devanzo, an earthquake engineering project with Mrs. Kristen Bedolla, a Lego wall and STEM games, and a take home activity kit. The night provided students and adults a glimpse into all elements of the STEAM program with science, 3D printers, engineering, art, math, and combined these elements in multiple activities.
