This club is for 4th and 5th graders. The Mathletes meet in Room 10 once a week to go over challenging, critical thinking math problems. The club is open to anyone that wants to do difficult (and fun) math problems during PE/lunch time. During Math Club, the students have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging math problems either in groups, with partners, or independently. The strategic math word problems encourage the students to use their critical-thinking skills in order to come up with a step by step strategy to solve the problem. It is beneficial for the students to see that you can use different approaches and methods to solve a problem correctly. The top 5 mathletes from the club participate in the Mathlete tournament at the end of the school year.
